Safety Measures and Tips when riding a Ship

Want to know the tips and Safety Measures when riding a ship?

I was about to ride at SuperCat, a shipping lines designed for 200 passengers without cargo, but since this is a long weekend, bulk of passengers came to Batangas Terminal in addition to the fact that two days from now will be the 2010 Philippine Presidential Elections. I arrived 6:30 but SuperCat posted that the next trip will be 9:00. Wow, it’s gonna be long, knowing that I would just sit and watch TV inside the Batangas Terminal Building, sadly, they are not yet installing wifi unlike in Calapan City Port Terminal. So I try my luck in RORO, Montenegro lines and Starlite Ferries will sail at 8:00 that’s why I have no choice but to ride in Besta Baleno 5 which will cruise at 7:30 . It’s not that I would hesitated to choose this ship but I was fresh from the trauma that there are still more than 20 unfound passengers inside Besta Baleno 8 which sank in Batangas ocean few months ago. I even took pictures of the ship and its facilities to suffice my two hours sailing experience. But what are the things you should do when inside a passenger ship?

1. Do not stay often in closed area, e.g. Aircon room because it’s hard to get out in panicking situations.
2. Find where the life jackets are placed. I always did because I am not a professional swimmer
3. Don’t sleep too much.
4. Find comfortable seats in open areas.
5. Text or call your relatives or friends that you are sailing in a RORO ship. Give the details
6. If ever you feel that the boat is gliding 70 degrees, well grab the life jacket and wait for captain’s ”Abandon the Ship”
7. Put your phones and valuables in plastic or things that float.
8. Pray – still. this is the greatest weapon

These are just my advices because I have experienced already the silence and anger of seas.

May 3, 2010 | Non Working Holiday | No Office and No Classes

Perhaps you are asking if we have Office or Classes on May 1, 2010 in the Philippines. Yeah, we have classes and office on May 1, 2010 (Saturday) because Gloria Arroyo declared the labor day as Non Working Holiday on Monday, May 3, 2010. Below is the detailed news:

It will be a long weekend this week after Malacanang on Wednesday announced that May 3 will be a non-working holiday in the country so as to give Filipinos a chance to observe Labor Day.

Labor Day or May 1 falls on a Saturday this year but in keeping with its holiday economics policy, MalacaƱang has decided to move the observance of the holiday on the nearest working day, which is May 3 or this Monday, Executive Secretary Leandro Mendoza said.

Labor officials the other day said President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will not make any wage increase announcements on Labor Day because wage boards in seven regions that have filed wage hike petitions were still holding deliberations that may conclude only in two or three weeks' time.

But they said the Palace will hold a “mega, mega” job fair on May 1 that will see the government offering 60,000 to 80,000 local and foreign jobs, the biggest ever in the nine-year-old Arroyo administration.

Dragon-Sized Lizard found in the Philippines

Another Dragon Sized Lizard was found in the mountains of Sierra Madre Philippines. This lizard weighs up to 10 kilograms, lives up in trees and eats fruits. It is only the third-fruit eating lizard in the world. It sports a color of bright yellow, blue and green. It has been hunted by the local tribes people in the mountains yet it is only now that the scientists was able to recognize it as a unique species. How it eluded scientists for so many years will probably remain a mystery, since it is already rare to discover a new species that is considered big in size. It is classified as a monitor lizard, the same class as that of the well-known Komodo dragon.

With 7, 107 islands, Philippines can be considered as one of the archipelagos where several endangered species can be found.

China is investing more in Forex

Sending a clear message to the US not to act against its interest, China, said yesterday that it would consider to invest more forex reserves in gold “cautiously” based on market conditions than American bond.

In the press conference held yesterday, Mr Yi Gang, who heads the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and is also the Vice-Governor of the People’s Bank of China said, China’s investment in US treasury bonds depend on market behaviour and should not be politics sed.
But his statement that Beijing will look into investing more forex reserves in gold “cautiously” on market conditions sparked off speculation that China may ease more US bonds to buy gold.
China sold $34 billion in US government bonds in December, triggering fears that Beijing is using its financial muscle to convey a strong message to the US that it has lost confidence in view of growing US deficit.
After the sale, by far the highest in a decade, China lost the position of the largest overseas holder of US treasury bonds to Japan which has $768.8 billion. China ended 2009 with $755.4 billion worth of US debt.

IT 3rd year's Best Shot

January 22, 2009 (friday)

Good day fellas!

I really enjoyed teaching graphic design, sometimes I’m serious in what I am doing but sometimes I realize that a tool can be taught in some funny and interesting ways. Not just I am making my class a bar, or a children’s party but because I’m used in making professional designs.

I have lot of students who already have and know the concept of professional outline, others are beginners, others are hazler, but the thing is - - - they learned from me…. Im happy!

I am not saying that I am really professional but because I have lots of floss just like others. Im childish sometimes and sorry if I can transcend it to my discussions. Let me just upload here your contents. Better than it is just stored in my LP. These are products of your own thoughts.

don’t make “tampo” because the contents are just randomly selected. Hehe. If you want to see your work to be posted, your request will do. i will post a separate page

Others say, your style in writing reflects your personality, so as the way you design.

I really want to thank smart bro cause even Im here in Malayan Colleges Laguna, I was able to share my thoughts throughout the world. At least, while waiting for Erlich to win the contest in web development, I was able to maximize my time doing this.

To my readers, most especially my students, I am encouraging that good design is sometimes not enough. As I talked to Mam Vengco, functionality is really an edge. Well, i want to experience PHP one of these days… cause I really have no idea…. Hahhahahahaha. Other thing, If you know you are quite expert in one area, try to discover the other.

Dami ko ng nasabi. But the bottomline. It’s non sense to those who did not appreciate. Hehehe. I have not taken any pix because ……….. you know…………. my cellphone. Di ko kasi maalis ung malakas na tunog everytime na nagpipicture me…… Goodbye for now.

Why do I Blog?

I was always thinking of everything! I am sometimes bored with my routinely activity, going to school, preparing my lessons, calling the names of students for recitation, preparing adobe photoshop activities, facing some ugly and pretty experiences inside the four corners of my room and going back again to where I started. For almost 2 years, this is the nature of my world.

Blogging! This will gonna be my new hobby. I want to write my diary online, this way I can feel that I am a celebrity. LOL. So many people, most specifically my students only know me as their teacher, others know my thoughts, and this is the time for everyone to know my ideas. I don’t care if my thoughts are not written well organize. I also don’t care if my English is poor, I am just trying to be a writer with no boss and no deadlines. What I am writing here is just what’s on my mind. And if you are against, well say it. Broadcast.

Other says that people are just blogging for money. Yeah! Im sure about that. But you know, for almost 10 times I got banned for so many dollars I have been collected? I don’t think that would be one of my reasons now. Maybe because my blogs then are all copied, LOL but now it’s all products of the God given wisdom. To all people out there who want to blog, go on! This is our time. This is actually my new year’s resolution. Touching other people’s lives..

I hope I can stand out with this resolution. To always put at least one blog in my account. Help me guys in achieving my 365 days dream. Most specially to the facebook addict. I will always post if there is an update. It’s up to you if you want to click and read. But I will post. Meanwhile, to those who didn’t know me yet, I am Wally! 21 years old and cute. Haha……… (kafal)

Take note: my blog is not connected with LPU, my institution. I love my school but this is not for them, this is for me. Maybe, I will be posting here with some of the activities related to the school but it’s not formal like of the official website. TY

I have no girlfriend now, the reason why? You will know it in my future blogs. And when I met the girl I really want. You will be the first to know.
