Geographical Errors in new Philippine Peso Bills - Tubatahha, Palawan Subterranean and Batanes Errors

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recently released the new designs of six major denominations in the Philippines last thursday. The new peso bills featured the late Philippine Presidents and the most amazing tourist destinations and animals in the country. The new money are majorly accepted by the Philippine public, however, some critics found out that there are some errors in the geographical locations of famous tourist spots like Tubatahha Reefs, Batanes Islands and Palawan's Subterranean Park.

New 1000 Peso Bill Errors

Based on local reports, Tubatahha reefs are placed with over 300 kilometers distance from the actual area as reflected in Republic Act 10067 - an Act signed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo specifying the exact ordinates of the tourist spot.
Northernmost islands of Batanes are not included in the banknote, according to newmediaph blog, upper islands of Batanes are group of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines so they should have been reflected.

New 500 Peso Bill Errors

"The location in the bill makes it seem that the park is inland. They should have moved the marker nearer to the upper edge and a bit lower and closer to Puerto Princesa. In any case, we believe that this is forgivable." -- as quoted from newmediaph

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is not yet giving their official statements regarding the geographical glitches found.

Indonesia vs Philippine Azkals Game 2 Winner - AFF Suzuki Cup 2010

After having defeated in the first leg of Indonesia versus Philippine Azkals Semi-Finals battle, RP's Azkals is once again ready to fight for the second leg of AFF Suzuki Football Cup 2010 Semi Finals -- clashing with the Indonesian Team for the second time at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Sunday. Winner in Game 2 leg will advance to Finals.

Simon Mcmenemy, Philippines Azkal's coach said that this is one of the "biggest game of their careers". Philippine team, as he said, are very much prepared for the second leg of the semis.

Here are the excerpt from Mcmenemy interview taken in their AFF Susuki website:

"We have a limited squad as we have some able players on the bench who may not quite be at the level of starting right now. We weren't expecting to be going so far in the tournament and to be playing game after game after game. We weren't expecting to be putting the same squad out time and time again. But it's not like we're under-prepared or unfit. No matter what the commentators on Star Sports say, we have prepared well, we are a fit side and we don't stop running."

"But I think that the boys are relaxed and chilled out. They're eager to get the match under way and they should be ready to go on Sunday"

Whoever will be the winner in the football competition, it's already a pride that Philippines is showing once again their interest in the field of international sports.

UK Martial Law - UK Police Chief Paul Stephenson suggests to ban protests

The UK Police Chief is suggesting the British government to ban protest and place UK under de facto state of martial law, this is after a student riot happened last week where according to reports and in the circulating videos, a disabled man was dragged in the street while other policeman beat other protesters on their heads with batons.

"It is one of the tactics we will look at and something we will keep under review, and if we think it is the right thing to do then we will do it", Chief Paul Stephenson said during the interview. It's main reason is to avoid violent demonstrations in Central London.

The violent demonstration happened after students protested for the rise in tuition fees. A video circulating in Youtube showed how harsh the authorities in their aim to calm the situation.

Chief Stephenson also clarified that the Public Order Act allowed him to do the ban. He said, "When you have got people willing to break the law in this way, what is the likelihood of them obeying an order not to march or complying with conditions on a demonstration? Sometimes putting that power in could just be inflaming the situation further."

Meanwhile, the President of the National Union of Students of the United Kingdom, Aaron Porter said that the peaceful protest is an integral part of student's heritage and it is the responsibility of the police to help facilitate.

Top Philippine Celebrity Endorsers for 2010 According to Synergy

Miss Universe 2010-4th Runner-Up Maria Venus Raj, Boxing Superstar Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and controversial beauty expert Dra. Vicki Belo are the three most reliable celebrity endorsers for 2010 according to a study conducted by Synergy Business Consultancy to 1,000 males and females, aged 15-60 years old, from all socio-economic classes in Metro Manila last September to October 2010 . The study shows that 67% of the total respondents patronize or buy products due to the influence of these celebrity endorsers.

This year, Pacquaio was still among those who made it to the top list with 47% of respondents who believe in his charisma as a credible product endorser aside from his influence as a boxing champion. Maria Venus Raj, on the other hand, has made a great impact to the viewing public when she made it to the final 5 in the Miss Universes 2010 beauty pageant making her the center of admiration of most Filipinos from all walks of life. Her humble beginnings also which were publicized contributed in making the beauty queen a common household name and in turn, a trustworthy celebrity endorser.

Meanwhile, the controversial surgeon Dra. Vicki Belo who has landed in the front page of newspapers this year due to different controversies garnered the approval of the 7% of the respondents, making her also on the top list. This rise in the popularity of Dra. Belo as an endorser proves that controversies are factors that affect people’s buying choice just like in the case of Kris Aquino who is a consistent top celebrity endorser due to the issues that she constantly dwells into. Fifteen percent (15%) of the total respondents believe in the influence of the TV host-actress as a product endorser.

Teleserye stars like Angel Locsin, Gretchen Barretto, Angel Aquino, Derek Ramsay, and Cristine Reyes have also proven their unmarred power to influence people as they are also regarded as dependable celebrity endorsers.

Are Kris Aquino and James Yap Together Again?

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino still makes it in the news today. Though not as controversial as she had been months ago, whatever she does catches media attention and the ever bubbly starer in Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Dalaw” will always have something to say in issues involving her or those people close to her.

In an interview by Nelson Canlas of GMA News, Kris declared that she and estranged husband James Yap are now good friends for the sake of their son Baby James. When asked if she and James have plans for the Christmas Eve, Kris immediately responded that she’s hoping that James’ team makes it to the semi-finals. She added that if the team makes it, Baby James can watch the game on December 25 and 26. She stressed that she will not invite James for Noche Buena.

Kris has just finished taping for an episode of GMA’s Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho wherein she also spoke about the love affair of her brother, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III or PNoy.

In another interview, Kris confirmed that said she will join politics, but clarified that she will only run after the term of his brother expires in 2016. She wishes to start her political career in Tarlac as a governor. The controversial TV host actress also said she wants to follow the footstep of veteran actress and now Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto. She emphasized that it was an advice from her late mother, former President Corazon C. Aquino.

Kris
is now busy in gift-giving activities in depressed areas in different cities and provinces for the spirit of Christmas season. The most recent was her gift-giving in Pasig as a sign of her thanksgiving to the people of Pasig who have always been very supportive to her family.

Cristine Reyes Booed in ABS-CBN 2010 Christmas Special

Last December 14, 2010 Sarah Geronimo and Cristine Reyes both appeared at the ABS-CBN 2010
Christmas Special
held in Araneta Coliseum.

It was a night to look forward to because it was the first public appearance of Sarah and Cristine after the Twitter controversy which fueled last week and spread in blogging sites. It was also the first time that the two were spotted in just one event after what happened on Twitter. However, their paths did not cross because rumors said that they tried to avoid each other.

Another controversy is starting to circulate in social networking sites now. Local entertainment sites say that Cristine was booed by the audience during her number. Apparently, she was seen crying at the backstage after that.

Roxy Liquigan of Star Cinema stated on her Twitter account that Cristine was not booed by the audience. People also liked her performance as she said that Cristine also had her league of fans in Araneta during that night.

Cristine joined the number for the "Teleserye Loveteams". She was paired with her "Kristine" leading man Zanjoe Marudo and performed along with other love teams Anne Curtis-Jericho Rosales, Vhong Navarro-Toni Gonzaga and John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo.

John Prats, Gab Valenciano Defend Sarah Geronimo Against Cristine Reyes

ABS-CBN’s sultry actress Cristine Reyes and Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo are still on the rift after Cristine lambasted Sarah on the microblogging site Twitter. A number of people spoke their mind on this feud including Cristine’s sister, Ara Mina and ASAP artists, John Prats and Gab Valenciano.

ASAP XV mainstay and dancer Gab Valenciano was rehearsing with John Prats and Rayver Cruz on the day when Sarah allegedly made the joke which raged Cristine. According to him, he heard Sarah mentioning “sexy actress.” “I think I heard something like that but I know it was just a joke, a statement” he said. He mentioned that Sarah did not mean to offend anybody as the joke was really meant for John Prats.

John Prats, a mainstay of ASAP XV and Banana Split, also defended Sarah on the issue saying that Sarah was actually joking on him. Pinoy Parazzi, on the other hand, said that in an interview with Cristine’s co-hosts in Banana Split, the following were the comments made on the issue: “Maarte lang talaga si Cristine” and “Hindi kami close ni Cristine kaya no comment kami”.

Meanwhile, Veronique del Rosario-Corpuz of VIVA Artists Agency who manages both Cristine and Sarah plans to settle the issue amicably. She is hoping and praying that they will soon kiss and make up since it is Christmas season. She ended by saying that the right time for reconciliation will come for both parties.
