The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently appealed for a "No Smoking" rule in all future Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie entries.

It was earlier reported that the pursuance of this rule will be of great help since MMFF movies greatly impact adult and youth behaviors.

The "No Smoking" rule in movies are condemned by some of the most popular showbiz personalities including Mother Lily Monteverde of Regal Films. She said that actors have the free rights to portray and bring life to any character. Smoking according to her, doesn't mean that they are setting a bad example to the youth.

ABS-CBN also revealed that the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairman, Grace Poe Llamansares said that they are being consulted also by DOH regarding the aforementioned rule. However, she did not gave any official statement as her agency will talk about this appeal next week.
