Big stars like Zaijian Jaranilla (who played the famed Santino of the “May Bukas Pa”), Aga Muhlach, Vhong Navarro, Eugene Domingo and Mika dela Cruz are the voices which give life to the first 3D animated film in the country billed as RPG Metanoia.
RPG Metanoia, an entry to the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) revolves around the story of Nico (Zaijan), a boy who loves to play massively multi-player online role-playing games (RPG) all day as he struggles to adjust himself to the real world. In an interview with Zaijan in the December 12 episode of ASAP XV, he said that RPG Metanoia is a movie to watch out for because it is a breakthrough in the history of Philippine Cinema. Zaijan added that kids for whom the movie is intended will be delighted with the story of this 3D film as it can easily be understood since it is in Tagalog.
Louie Suarez, the director of RPG Metanoia affirms that this animated movie is about the importance of improving and changing oneself. “Role playing games are all about leveling up, improving yourself, changing, becoming a better person, becoming a stronger person. The primary theme of the movie is finding the hero within, leveling up,” he stressed during the film’s press conference on Friday. Suarez also trusts that the Filipino audiences are ready for a movie like this as he hopes that it will draw the moviegoers to the film when it hits the big screen on December 25.
RPG Metanoia premieres this Sunday afternoon at SM Megamall Cinema 3. ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio Lopez III and president Charo Santos-Concio are expected to attend the screening.
